Preventing Cancer
Cancer prevention activities are actions taken to lower the risk of getting cancer. This includes but not limited to: increasing physical activity, getting vaccines to prevent some types of cancer, getting regular screenings, eating a healthy diet and maintaining a healthy weight, quitting smoking, limiting substance use, and protecting oneself from UV rays and limiting the use of tanning beds.
